Overview

Purpose of the Position

Responsible for assisting all current, graduating students and recent alumni in securing employment in the industries represented by the school's programs of study.  Assist the Sr. Director of Career Services in achieving predetermined goal rates through services that offer career guidance counseling, generate job leads and appropriately match qualified candidates with potential job opportunities, developing and maintain relationships with employers and alumni.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in developing and implementing marketing plans to achieve graduate employment goals.
  • Oversees Career Development Specialists.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with local and regional corporations and organizations.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining systems used to identify employment opportunities for students and graduates.
  • Assists graduates in securing employment in their field of study.
  • Provides career coaching and interview techniques through seminars and workshops using Think, Build, Live, Success.
  • Maintains department compliance with government and accreditation regulations.
  • Assists in developing an Advisory Committee for each of the programs offered
  • Demonstrates knowledge of, and carefully follows all applicable federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the Department of Education, accrediting agencies, CIE, and internal UMA policies and procedures.
  • Effectively communicates compliance requirements to students and other staff as appropriate and quickly escalates any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution recognized by the US Department of Education in a related area or equivalent experience is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in recruiting, career services and employment assistance, or in sales required.

 

Associated Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong oral and written skills required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and presentation skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the Internet required.
  • Proven track record of project completions, multi-tasking, and the ability to handle a high pressure environment with significant timeline pressures.
  • Management experience required.
  • History of developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
