Purpose of the Position

The Training Specialist for Learner Services is responsible for developing, implementing and managing learning content for UMA employees in support of student advisors. This individual will partner with team members, Learner Services leadership, and Human Resources to drive the implementation of core employee learning and development for Ultimate Medical Academy programs.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

 

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops and implements training curricula; develops training programs and collateral (i.e. web-based courses, instructor lead, job-aids, videos) for delivery in a classroom, web-based, mobile devices and/or blended learning environment
  • Facilitates new hire training, selects and prepares internal guest speakers for topic delivery. Prepares leadership as teachers around content for continuous improvement/learning culture
  • Identities key knowledge and development gaps based on individual, team or business inputs (i.e. organization processes and employee performance)
  • Develops, presents, and maintains: Development plans, assessment tracking, design documents, instructional materials and surveys
  • Responsible for new hire coaching and development towards department KPIs the first 90 Days, analyzes performance and works close with the department management team to ensure employee success
  • Proactively reviews and shares market knowledge on learning and development trends
  • Develop and organize new hire binders, training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials for Learner Services
  • Ability to observe calls, accurately score the student experience and provide professional coaching feedback to improve employee performance
  • Demonstrates knowledge of, and carefully follows all applicable federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the Department of Education, accrediting agencies, CIE, and internal UMA policies and procedures.
  • Effectively communicates compliance requirements to students and other staff as appropriate and quickly escalates any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.

 

 

Qualifications

 

 

Education/Experience

  • Preferred, Bachelor’s degree in business, instructional design, organization development or human resources related field.
  • Required, minimum of 3 years of experience facilitating and developing training
  • Preferred, prior experience in professional services/consulting
  • Preferred, training or instructional design certificates
  • Required, mid-sized to large company training experience
  • Required, sold working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Viso and PowerPoint) and a strong technical aptitude for learning new systems
  • Preferred, working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Affects and Premier)

Physical Demands

  • Requires long periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer
  • Requires occasional bending, stooping and squatting
