    Purpose of the Position

     

    Ultimate Medical Academy is seeking an MBA/CIS/MIS or equivalent graduate level intern for its Strategic Initiatives team at the Tampa, FL Headquarters. The Strategic Initiatives team at UMA analyzes industry trends identifies and executes upon key opportunities for growth, including revenue generation, operational improvements, and strategic partnerships. This team aligns closely with UMA’s executives and ownership to develop and implement meaningful corporate strategies. The Strategic Initiatives Intern must have superior analytics, organization and communication skills. Multi-tasking while maintaining strong attention to detail is crucial in UMA’s fast paced environment.

     

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

     

    • Interface with the Strategic Initiatives team and senior management on analysis required to evaluate strategies and develop ongoing strategic organizational plans including new market research, competitive benchmarking and data modeling.
    • Conduct trending, forecasting, and predictive modeling to identify patterns and root cause analysis.
    • Conduct ad-hoc qualitative and quantitative analyses around new business initiatives and organizational priorities.
    • Assess and develop strategies to meet regulatory requirements in the most efficient and compliant manner.
    • Develop and maintain reports and metrics to track employee performance management.
    • Performing other related tasks and duties as assigned.
    • During the internship, there will be at least one major initiative the Intern will be responsible for and evaluated accordingly.
    • Effectively communicates compliance requirements to students and other staff as appropriate and quickly escalates any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of, and carefully follows all applicable federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the Department of Education, accrediting agencies, CIE, and internal UMA policies and procedures.
    • Effectively communicates compliance requirements to students and other staff as appropriate and quickly escalates any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.

     

    Education/Experience

     

    • In final year of MBA/MIS/CIS or equivalent graduate level program from a top-tier university (Required)
    • 2-4 years of experience in analytics, strategy, consulting or related field. (Preferred)

     

    Associated Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

     

    • Strong communication skills, specifically an ability/willingness to communicate effectively with senior management
    • Self-motivated, driven individual with demonstrated ability to work independently.
    • Demonstrated critical problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
    • Proficiency in MS Excel with a proven track record
    • Exposure to ANSI/ISO standard SQL or major SQL dialect (e.g., PL/SQL, T-SQL, or PL/pgSQL).
    • Ability to synthesize large amounts of data into summaries appropriate for senior management use
    • Experience creating dashboards a plus (i.e. PowerBI, SSRS, Tableau)
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

     

    Physical Demands

     

    • Requires long periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer
    • Requires occasional bending, stooping and squatting
    • Requires occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
