    Our marketing team is a highly energetic group of creative and results-driven professionals. We are seeking an additional member to help us continue innovating in the field of higher education marketing. You will have the opportunity to work with a knowledgeable and experienced staff leveraging a wide variety of technology and resources, all while having access to a school with a vibrant and diverse community of learners.


    The Director of Marketing is responsible for managing stakeholder relationships, driving collaboration across the specialist teams, ensuring efficient development and implementation of project plans, marketing/creative briefs, campaigns, strategic direction for channel and supporting all marketing initiatives.


    Role and Responsibilities:

    • Clearly understands stakeholder objectives and strategic imperatives and effectively communicates their needs to the marketing team
    • Develops/maintains strong relationships with various key stakeholders
    • Oversees the development of annual stakeholders marketing plans and marketing budgets
    • Maintains a robust knowledge of allied healthcare and education category and competitive environment that impacts UMAs business
    • Ensure stakeholders projects are on strategy and integrated with UMAs overall business plans
    • Proactively provides stakeholders with marketing insights and problem solving
    • Provides project direction, timing, and budgets to marketing team
    • Ensures stakeholders deliverables are on target and meet deadlines
    • Ensures consistency of ongoing weekly status meetings and follows up with stakeholders
    • Manages, mentors, coaches and oversees marketing managers
    • Works closely with Sr. Director, Marketing to identify resource needs in advance to meet deadlines and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders
    • Monitors performance of accounts to maximize marketing and stakeholder KPIs
    • Analyze and report on campaign performance
    • Understands stakeholders forecast/budget issues
    • Identifies new marketing opportunities
    • Act as a strategic partner with the stakeholders
    • Evaluate creative, media and strategic planning relative to strategy, stakeholder’s preferences and a larger business picture
    • Offer core stakeholders communications such as timelines, budgets and descriptions of deliverables
    • Participate in the presentation and selling of creative and media plans
    • Develop in-depth business reports and comprehensive competitive analyses
    • Own and manage the day-to-day stakeholder’s relationship and maintain contact with key stakeholder’s personnel
    • Act as a strategic partner with the stakeholders
    • Facilitate the development of thorough and effective creative briefs
    • Evaluate creative, media and strategic planning relative to strategy, stakeholder’s preferences and a larger business picture
    • Drive omni-channel campaign development, working with all agency departments
    • Offer core stakeholders communications such as timelines, budgets and descriptions of deliverables
    • Participate in key organizational discussions across the organization to help develop marketing programs and operational procedures that enforce consistent brand messaging and organizational goals.
    • Identify opportunities, propose solutions, manage projects through kickoff, requirements analysis, development, testing and launch.
    • Identifying areas of opportunity for improvement in communication and student experience.
    • Actively seeks out new projects, ideas and opportunities within the department and collaboration with external departments. Organizes and motivates key stakeholders to action.
    • Plan, devise and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns to drive UMA’s education programs, improve student outcomes and experience.


    • Must be one that challenges the status quo and seeks alternate perspectives and approaches in developing effective marketing/advertising strategies
    • Must be interested in actively growing and developing the skills and abilities of junior staff
    • Must be a resource and advisor for all team members
    • Must be detail oriented with a “zero-defect” mentality

    • Must Appreciate good creative and take an active role in staying abreast of what is happening within our industry
    • The ideal candidate has a deep passion for multi-channel marketing best practices, customer service and entrepreneurialism.


    General / Legal Disclosures

    • Demonstrates knowledge of, and carefully follows all applicable federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the Department of Education, ACICS, CIE, and internal UMA policies and procedures.
    • Effectively communicates compliance requirements to students and staff as appropriate and quickly escalates any compliance concerns to the compliance department. 



    • Bachelor’s Degree required
    • 10+ years of experience in an ad agency or internal marketing department required
    • 5+ years direct supervisory experience required
    • Healthcare or Online Education marketing experience is required
    • Campaign management experience
    • Project management software familiarity
    • SEO knowledge and SEM knowledge
    • Strong communication and presentation skills
    • Ability to build relationships with other teams and manage deliverables
    • Mature problem-solving skills for triage of complicated business logic
    • Reporting and analysis (Excel dashboards, Google Analytics)
    • Bachelor’s degree (marketing, business, communications or info systems preferred)
