Purpose of the Position:

The In School Placement Coordinator is responsible for communication with and support of all UMA students who have obtained gainful employment while still in school, by connecting them with our Verifications Team, and introducing them to the Alumni Department.  The In School Placement Coordinator reports to the Manager of Graduate Success.


UMA is a nonprofit healthcare educational institution with a national presence. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida and founded in 1994, UMA offers content-rich, interactive online programs as well as hands-on training at our Clearwater, Florida campus. 

  • Anticipated starting rate $18.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities:


  • Outreach to students and graduates who obtained gainful employment while still in school and complete all proper placement verification procedures.
  • Help students and graduates overcome obstacles to employment when necessary.
  • Connect students and graduates who are currently working in their field of study with the Alumni Department for further career services support.
  • Other duties as assigned.




  • Demonstrates knowledge of, and carefully follows all applicable federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the Department of Education, accrediting agencies, CIE, and internal UMA policies and procedures.
  • Effectively communicates compliance requirements to students and other staff as appropriate and quickly escalates any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.


Work Experience, Skills & Abilities:

 Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of Career Services experience.
  • Knowledge of the Career Service Advisor role and experience overcoming graduate obstacles.
  • Knowledge of different application processes and expectations.

  • Ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours and has a history of dependable attendance.
  • Ability to work proactively amongst a team and strategically overcome graduate obstacles to increase placement outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision.
  • Disciplined, able to pay close attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems.
  • Detail and deadline oriented, flexible to rapid change.
  • Highly motivated and able to motivate others.


Working Environment:

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.


Physical Demands:

  • Requires long periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer.
  • Requires occasional bending, stooping and squatting.
  • Requires occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
