Purpose of the Position:

 

The Business Development Advisor plays a crucial role in our Career Services team, with a primary focus on managing the employer-facing processes that support graduates in achieving positive career outcomes. In collaboration with graduate-facing teams, this role contributes to achieving organizational goals.

 

UMA is a nonprofit healthcare educational institution with a national presence. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida and founded in 1994, UMA offers content-rich, interactive online programs as well as hands-on training at our Clearwater, Florida campus. 

  • Pay rate of $20.00/hr.

What You’ll Do:

  1. Territory Management and Employer Relationship Development: Manage an assigned territory, focusing on cultivating strong relationships with employers in the allied healthcare field to create graduate placement opportunities.
  2. Prospective Employer Outreach: Initiate contact with prospective employer partners through cold calling and utilize the internal leads management system effectively.
  3. Strategic Planning for Employment Goals: Develop and implement plans to achieve employment goals for both students and graduates.
  4. Graduate-Employer Matching and Relationship Maintenance: Match graduates with suitable employer positions and maintain ongoing relationships with companies to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
  5. Accurate Documentation and Metrics Management: Maintain timely, compliant, and accurate documentation related to graduates, employers, job orders, and interview results, including successful graduate placements. Consistently meet or exceed department metrics and quotas, including talk time, interviews, hires, and monthly placement goals.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Skills – results driven, communication/interpersonal skills, relationship building/rapport, and time management.
  • Ability to professionally communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
  • Ability to support a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • Computer literacy/basic computer skills to effectively navigate and utilize the technology required for the role.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Any degree or equivalent experience and/or strong or advanced proficiency in the above required skills/experience.
  • 1+ years’ experience in sales, staffing, or business-to-business (B2B) sales.
  • Experience in employment staffing, career services, out-placement services, or sales in the corporate sector and/or business development.
  • Experience cold calling in a production driven environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business tools such as Microsoft Teams.
  • Other skills or abilities – professional sales, business development, customer service, and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

Compliance:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and carefully follows all applicable state laws and rules, federal and state compliance requirements and regulations including those prescribed by the U.S. Department of Education, accrediting agencies, state regulations and internal policies and procedures.
  • Effectively communicate compliance requirements to other staff as appropriate and quickly escalate any compliance concerns to the Compliance department.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • This is a full-time remote position, with only occasional, planned onsite or travel requirements.
  • Home office set up, quiet place to work, ability to be on camera, and ability to hard wire into high-speed internet connection.
  • May require setup of computer equipment; accommodation consideration available upon request.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed.
